Beastie Boys cover opener!! Hahaha. Who had that on their Bingo cards? Not Negative Man. I was thinking a Taylor Swift or Devo cover. Maybe next year. Great sound on this recording. Instruments and vocals are clear, and you get a great sense for how the sound felt in a jam-packed Lark Hall that night. Cool jam after Passengers into Adirondak Blue, great version of Blackberry Brandy. Very fun night. You know the drill by now. If Negative Man is hyping a show then you grab your headphones, clear your calendar, and take a seat to listen. Immediately.
If you saw a Seapods or any show in Albany over the last 40 years odds are good it was promoted by Greg Bell. Greg is an Albany legend and longtime friend to the Seapods. The Seapods recorded “The Guide to Roadside Ecology” in 1995 at Greg Bell’s house in the upper Catskills. And in December 2025, a handful of bands got together at Lark Hall in Albany to play a gig and wish Greg well upon his retirement:
